About

What is it?

Maths Club is an after-school program designed to build strong, lasting foundations in mathematics before students transition into secondary school.

It focuses on developing true understanding—not just getting answers. Students learn to reason, explain their thinking, and make meaningful connections across different areas of mathematics. This is what allows them to move confidently into more complex mathematics later on.

Who is it for?

Maths Club is designed for primary school–aged students of all ability levels.

For students who feel disengaged or unsure, mathematics is experienced through rich, purposeful tasks that spark curiosity and rebuild confidence. For those already performing well, the same tasks provide depth, challenge, and opportunities to think more deeply.

Every student is given access to meaningful mathematics—no one is left doing work that feels either too easy or out of reach.

Why it matters

Maths Club is designed and led by a mathematics education specialist and grounded in educational research. It complements the valuable work already happening in primary classrooms by providing a dedicated focus on mathematical thinking and concept development.

This gives students the opportunity to engage with key ideas in greater depth and with a level of precision that supports long-term understanding.

The goal is simple: to set students up properly before they reach high school.

Because once the mathematics becomes more abstract, it also becomes less forgiving. Gaps that once went unnoticed begin to surface, and students are no longer just learning new content—they are trying to rebuild what was never fully understood.

Maths Club takes a different approach.

By building strong foundations early, students enter secondary school ready to engage, keep up, and move forward with confidence.

Because in mathematics, what comes later only stands if what came first was built properly.
