Maths Club was created to give children more time and space to explore, question, reason and genuinely understand mathematics.
Mathematical strength is about more than procedure.
Too often, mathematics becomes a race to finish work, remember a method or arrive at the correct answer.
Those things matter — but they are only part of mathematical learning.
Students also need opportunities to ask why something works, notice patterns, connect ideas, test conjectures, communicate their reasoning and continue working when the solution is not immediately obvious.
Maths Club creates space for exactly that kind of thinking.

Maths Club was created by Danijela Draskovic, an experienced mathematics educator and secondary Mathematics and Physics teacher.
Danijela is also an Education Manager at The Mathematical Association of Victoria, where her work includes designing mathematics professional learning, developing educational programs and resources, managing statewide initiatives and working with teachers and schools across Victoria.
Her work provides a view of mathematical learning from both directions: what students are experiencing now, and what they will increasingly need as they move into secondary mathematics.
Depth before acceleration.
Children should not be pushed ahead simply for the sake of being ahead.
They should be given mathematics with enough richness and depth that they have to think.
